The
venue was a stones throw from Lincoln Castle in the city centre.
The Lawns is now a business conference centre but used to be a psychiatric hospital with both male and female patients closing in the late 1980’s.
There were rumours of a 14th Century plague pit located outside in the gardens (just behind the location of the bar).

This
was only the second vigil for Lee and Ros and we had high expectations
based on what was promised in terms of the vigil organisers list of available
equipment and proposed schedule (we were bitterly disappointed on that
front). Given that it was Halloween, we were a little nervous at what
we might get. We had no briefing of any phenomena until at the venue and
none of us had done any research prior to the event so Wayne’s initial
experiences could be safely viewed on their own merits.
